Healthy ageing, from the inside out

Véronique Gauthier-Simmons, PhD, is the author of Taming the Walrus: Inner Intelligence, Yoga, and the Science of Healthy Ageing. She brings together research, more than twenty-five years of living with MS, and her experience as a yoga therapist to help people understand how the body ages, and what they can do about it.

She speaks to individuals, communities and organisations, in person and online.

Talks and workshops

– What MS taught me about ageing well: a personal keynote on healing, adaptation and listening to the body
– Power fades before strength: why reaction speed matters as we age, and how to train it
– Stress, the silent saboteur: the nervous system, chronic stress and how to recover
– The breath as a tool for resilience
– Deep rest is not a luxury: sleep, recovery and repair

For organisations
Véronique’s PhD research was on systems of innovation: how knowledge moves through organisations and economies, and what allows them to learn and adapt. That research shapes a conviction at the heart of her work. People aged 45 and over are not a cost to manage. They carry experience, judgement and knowledge that organisations cannot easily replace.
Many are at the height of their expertise while their bodies are changing. Helping them stay well is not only a wellbeing question. It is also about keeping that knowledge in the organisation.
Véronique’s keynotes, workshops and programmes combine the science of healthy ageing with her 15 years as a Learning Designer. People leave with practical tools they actually use: at their desk, at home and for the rest of their working lives.
